The Woodruff County Sheriff’s department is responsible for its daily operations. Its essential tasks for the secure facility include:

● Provide basic supplies to the jail

● Safeguard the inmates, staff, and community around the premises

● Monitor the inmate’s activities and other assigned duties

● Offer transport back and forth between various courts

Friends and families, not forgetting attorneys, can access relevant information regarding the inmates, including;

● Arrests warrants

● Bonds

● Bookings time and date

● Court orders

● Mugshots

● Release, date, and time

● Offense

The federal jail has systematic measures for friends and families to visit an inmate in custody, for instance:

1. Search for your loved one by calling, emailing, or visiting the official department site.

2. Request the inmate to add you to the pre-approved visitors’ list

Alternatively, write to the facility at 500 North 3rd Street, P. O. Box 555, August City, Arkansas, 72006-2020.

Other Jails and Prisons

The New Woodruff County Jail, yet to open officially, accommodates about 225 male and female prisoners with separate wings for safety.

Unlike the old central correctional facility, the new secure jail has unique features. It has clear glasses on cells instead of steel bars for easy inmate monitoring. The go-through sally port to ease inmate ferrying, an exercise yard, and a modern kitchen are now all in one compound.

In addition, it has four modern and equipped new offices for various officers, including:

● Sheriff’s

● Chief Deputy

● State Police

● Criminal Investigation

The county has other jails in various cities functioning as holding units on behalf of these police departments:

● McCrory

● Patterson

● Cotton Plant

● Augusta

Augusta Jail is a private facility in Augusta City that can hold about 37 offenders for less than 72 hours. It offers services to police units to hold offenders and suspects on trial or awaiting pleas. Visit the police offices or call 870-347-5189 to find an inmate. Provide their date of birth and full name or ID number for fast and easy identification and tracking.

Phil Reynolds is the current sheriff and has led over 20 well-trained personnel and officers at the Woodruff Sheriff’s Department since 2014. The office serves the public from 890 Gregory Street, Augusta City. It offers several essential services, honestly and professionally, including:

● Investigate child abuse and criminal activities

● Execute court orders (warrants and arrests)

● Manage the county jail and other correctional facilities

● Prevent crime

● Enforce traffic laws, the rule of law, and order to the latter

In addition, the office partners with two major programs in the county; the VINELink, a victims’ alert system, and National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. For this and other inmate-related matters, call 870-347-2583 or fax 870-347-2915.

Arrests

Citizens can search online for current arrest warrant records by visiting the sheriff’s office site.
