About Union County Jail

The Union County Detention Center holds those convicted or accused of offenses against the Union County population and the state of Arkansas. The Detention Center maintains about 213 male and female inmates year-round per state law and Arkansas Jail Standards.

The majority of detainees at Union County Jail are awaiting punishment or trial. Most convicts pass through the County Jail for no more than four years.

The Union County Jail is a medium-security facility that accommodates adult offenders who can get trustee status in exchange for good behavior. These trustees labor at the Union County Jail for a fee or have their sentences reduced.

Captain Richard Mitcham, the Union County jail administrator, supervises the jail’s day-to-day operations and assures staff quality control. Lt. Paul Kugler is the Assistant Jail Administrator.

Additional staff includes:

El Dorado Detention Centre

The El Dorado City Jail, located at 402 North West Avenue in El Dorado, Arkansas, is a holding facility for the El Dorado Police Department. El Dorado Police updates daily information on detainees and makes it available on the official website.
