Saline County Detention Center

The jail is at 735 S Neeley St, Benton, AR 72015. The sheriff’s department runs this medium-level security detention center. Currently, a hundred and ninety-seven inmates serve their sentences in the detention center.

The inmates in the facility are generally offenders with short sentences. Most sentences are for a maximum of one year. Offenders awaiting trial in the local Saline court do so in the facility. The detention center contains two blocks to hold female and male offenders separately.

Other law enforcement entities sometimes request Saline county jail to hold a prisoner arrested in the county momentarily. The prison detains the prisoner until their transfer to the appropriate jurisdiction.

The facility keeps a detailed record of all offenders who are present. On entry, the facility collects the fingerprint and personal details and takes a mugshot of the inmate. The facility updates its online roster daily or as the information changes.

Facility maintenance occurs with the help of inmate labor. Arkansas allows trusted inmates to work off a portion of their sentence by carrying out duties such as laundry, cooking, and cleaning within the facility. Some inmates receive pay for their work.

On weekdays, from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can pay a loved one a visit to this facility. Inmates are allowed two visits each week. Visits are limited to a maximum of 45 minutes. To visit an offender, call the facility at 501-303-5642 to schedule a visit.
