There are two ways to search for an incarcerated friend in Greene County jail. You can call or visit the sheriff’s office (details below) or access the jail roster on the county’s website.

Greene County Jail Roster

Greene’s jail roster contains all the inmates incarcerated in the county. From it, you can know the reasons for your friend’s arrest, the date to appear in court, and the bond for his freedom.

Now, how do you look for an incarcerated friend?

You will need the inmate’s name. The roster has mugshots for all the inmates, so it’s easy to trace our convicted friend. However, having more info about an inmate can make the search easier, e.g., the offender’s age, booking number, date of arrest, the arresting agency, etc.

Here is the link to the Greene County inmate roster. The current number of detainees on the list is 263.

Note the roster only contains the currently incarcerated inmates.

Call the sheriff’s office if you can’t find an incarcerated friend on the inmate roster. The phone number to reach the facility is 870-239-6343. But if you want to pay a visit to the office, which is better, here is the address;

Prison Name: Greene County Jail

Greene County Most Wanted List

The list contains all the offenders or alleged criminals at large hunted by the sheriff’s department. The list is to help citizens avoid such persons or call the police if they spot an offender on the list.

It contains the offender’s name, race, gender, mugshot, and birthdate.

About Greene County Jail

The jail can incarcerate an average of 350 convicts. But it can also stretch to 440 inmates in an emergency. The population involves inmates awaiting trial and convicts serving 12 months or less imprisonment.

Organizational Structure

Steve Franks is the current head of the law enforcement department, with nine executive staff serving under him. Shannon Antony is the deputy chief. Aside from the 9, the sheriff has about 142 trained and equipped officers to restrain and rehabilitate offenders.

The county jail also works under Arkansas DOC to incarcerate minor crime convicts, e.g., petty theft or drunk driving. It’s also responsible for monitoring inmates under probation when released from the State prisons.

Programs

The county jail does more than implement the court verdicts by putting bad guys behind bars. The correctional facility has reintegration programs geared toward restoring inmates’ serenity. Such programs include:

  • Religious programs. Chaplains and community churches help inmates struggling in critical life areas such as the meaning of life, ethics, and value system.
  • Educational programs. These short courses help inmates acquire the necessary skills to cater to their needs once released.
  • There are also volunteer opportunities for willing persons or organizations to help the inmate—for example, counseling sessions or drug rehabilitation programs.

Inmate Support

Aside from the above programs, Greene jail allows you to visit and financially support an inmate. You are allowed to support your incarcerated friend by sending them money.

If you want to add a few dollars to an inmate’s account, visit the Greene County website. For money deposits, click the link jailatm.com. Select the service option you want. You can email or use your ATM card to deposit cash into an inmate’s account.

For assistance, call the agency at 870-627-5476 or the sheriff’s office at 870-239-6343 (fax: 870-239-6344).

Additionally, particular inmates, those who pose no security threat, can enroll in paid prison labor to support themselves. They can be recruited in various programs, e.g., cleaning, building projects, or kitchen services.

Inmate care

The detention center has medical facilities within its walls to treat inmates without necessarily moving them to public hospitals.
