Here is how to find an inmate in Franklin County Jail:
- Go to Franklin County Sheriff’s Office inmate Roster
- An Individual in custody information page will appear with a field for inmate IDOC number, last name, and date of birth.
- Enter the inmate’s DOC number and press the ‘find’ button.
- If you don’t have the inmate’s number enter their last name and search. You can also key in the date of birth to narrow the search.
- Click on the name of the inmate you are looking for, and their details will appear.
Arrests
When a cop observes a crime or has a reasonable suspicion that one has committed a crime they have the responsibility to arrest the suspect.
The police officer will identify himself, announce that he is arresting the suspect, and advise them of their rights during the first few phases of an arrest procedure. Officers will also explain why they are detaining the subject.
The culprit is apprehended, generally in handcuffs, and sent to a prison or police station. The arresting officers will book the suspect and photograph and fingerprint the culprit.

About Franklin County Detention Center
The Franklin County Detention Center is a medium-security facility that houses both male and female inmates. The sentenced inmates are allowed to work within the institution in the industries, food service or maintenance departments.
Inmates may make phone calls daily between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. There is a time limit of 27 minutes per prisoner per phone call during regular hours and 8 minutes during peak hours. For security concerns, The Detention Center officials will monitor phone calls.
Social visits are permitted from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekends. Before visiting the Franklin County Detention Center, be sure you are on their authorized visitor list. Click here to view all visitation rules.
Each week, two 45-minute onsite video sessions are permitted. These sessions must be booked ahead of time, between 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday.
In addition to video visits, Franklin County Detention Center inmates can communicate with friends and families via mail or letter. Officers will inspect all personal mail for contraband.
