Benton County Jail 

The Benton County Jail is a medium jail facility in Benton County. The county jail has its base at 1300 SW 14th Street in Bentonville, Arkansas, 72712, and has a bed capacity of 669 

In January 1999, the Benton County prison became available for personnel orientation and training. The prison started housing inmates in April 1999.  

A brief history of the jail confirms that architects and correctional experts visited eight jails in Colorado and Wyoming with former Sheriff Andy Lee. The main aim of the visits was to pick the most compelling features of each prison and decide how to design the jail in Benton County.  

A non-linear, direct/indirect facility was the end outcome.  

Maximum and minimal security pods, a dormitory housing section, and barracks for offenders on work release are also available. The Benton County jail strives to provide employees and inmates with a secure, safe, and compassionate environment. The Benton County Jail Administrator and the Assistant Jail Administrator report to the Sherriff’s office.

The jail has a 100, 355 square-foot footprint and can house 669 people. The building’s 16,938 square foot administrative office space is due to the Half-cent county prison charge that has enabled the renovations of the facility over time.

About Benton County 

Benton County is in the northwest part of Arkansas in the United States. The population was 284,333 as of the 2020 census, making it Arkansas’s second-most populated county. Bentonville is the county seat.  

On September 30, 1836, the county was established and named for Thomas Hart Benton, a U.S. Senator from Missouri. Benton County voters decided in 2012 to declare the county wet or a non-alcohol prohibition area.
